Pic 28: Front Cover
- (1) 3/16" Basswood (180mm x 25mm)
- (1) 3/16" Basswood (90mm x 30mm)
- (2) 18mm Nose Cone Shoulders
The 29mm hole is cut only in the upper section.
|
Pic 29: Front Cover The pieces of Basswood are cut
to size and shaped to conform with the body of the rocket.
The angles are the slant on the 1st Canopy (pic #2)
|
Pic 30: Motivation Shot No, the top fin is still not
glued in.
|
Pic 31: Parachute Mounts The eye-screws are
positioned so that they go into the openings on the sides of the canopy.
The screws were CA'd into the wood and then back-filled with epoxy.
|
Pic 32: Parachute Compartment Here's where the size
and weight become a problem. I can fit a 24" parachute into the side
compartment, I need a 30" for just the nose cone. I'm looking for a thin
parachute.
|
Pic 33: Parachute Compartment The plan is for the
left parachute to be for just the nose cone and the right for the body of the
rocket.
