This project is a transformation of the Estes "Magician" into a custom rocket called the Boogie Bee. The Magician had a hard landing and the tip of the body tube was slightly damaged. Initially I planed to just repair the rocket but after cutting away the damaged portion I decided to repaint the rocket and give it a new look.

I refinished the body with Createx auto-air yellow. The auto-air paint has a nice finish and since its a water base there is really very little fumes.

The nose cone and transition have been re-painted black, also using the auto-air paint. Since both of these parts are glued into the clear payload section rather than try to separate the parts, I left the silver as is. The silver should go with the rockets new look pretty well.

At the College Stadium store in the Mall I picked up a Georgia Tech Bee and Printed the new Boogie Bee name out onto Testors waterslide clear decal paper.

This is just about finished, I just need to clear coat the whole rocket and it will be ready to fly. The two black rings are made out of contact paper.
