Nice flight of the upscale Blue Bird Zero. great boost, straight, fast and high. Lost sight of it in the high clouds near apogee. Heard the ejection charge, LCO called out that it had seperated. Got eyes on the booster section falling flat, LCO gave me a good line on the front end of the rocket under chute. Shock cord broke about 1 foot above the booster section. Both sections recovered on the field without major damage. One of the small wd fins was knocked off on impact and found next to the rocket. Flown with a Jolly Logic Altimeter II with the following data recorded: Burn time 1.4 sec, peak acceleration 19.5g, average acceleration 11.3g, coast time to apogee 9.8 sec, ejection 0.1 sec prior to apogee, ejection altitude, descent rate and duration not recorded, peak altitude 2468 feet, max velocity 357 MPH.
