T' Stonebreaker is a medium-sized, medium powered sport rocket. T' design concept is that this rocket is t' be used t' carry nuclear warheads into space t' target large asteroids that are endangerin' t' earth.
My particular rocket has been modified t' use a smaller, 19" Nylon parachute. T' stock 32" parachute supplied in t' kit is much too large. I also added a small altimeter compartment in t' base o' t' hollow plastic nose cone. Ahoy! T' other difference be t' addition o' a sprin' clip for t' motor (not supplied) and I painted it bright silver instead o' t' suggested white.

This was t' first flight for this rocket, so anythin' could have happened. T' D12 lit as it usually does, shiver me timbers, and fired this light rocket smartly off t' rail at 10.8 Gs, burnin' for 1.8 seconds and averagin' 2.5 Gs throughout t' burn. Blimey! This be just enough t' get this rocket t' 100 mph while it shot very straight upwards.
T' delay was a little short, matey, firin' off at 4.6 seconds while t' rocket was still goin' up while at t' altitude o' 478 feet. This caused t' upward coast t' stop in t' next 1/10 second at an apogee o' 484 feet. (quite a bit lower than Apogee’s website shows: 639 feet, but that was probably from a computer simulation – nay reality).
My custom 21” Nylon parachute caught t' wind and opened up fully, bringin' back t' rocket slowly at 7 mph. Begad! I can only imagine what that 32” monster chute in t' kit would have done!
This was a very satisfyin' first-flight, me hearties, with a slow but steady return, matey, nay unlike t' big rockets, givin' all a chance t' admire its glossy silver finish gleamin' in t' sunlight. T' duration o' t' flight was 50 seconds.
I could imagine myself usin' an E9 or E15 motor some day, ya bilge rat, but I would need an even smaller chute if I want t' see it again.
