So today, in spite of the blustery weather, we were able to get a few flights in at the Knik River Sandbar including my Vulcanite which I had setup for dual deployment. To try and get some Idea as to how it would perform, I ran a simulation with an AT H130 motor. Per OpenRocket, I was expecting a max altitude of 1622'. Interestingly though, per the dato form my altimeter, post flight, she achieved 2760'. so I either entered something wrong in the simulator, or my altimeter is lying to me. Though I realize that the altitude readings are approximations based on barometric pressure, I'm thinking that it's the former. Either way, had been expecting the rocket to perform the way it, I'm not sure I would've launched considering the weather at the site. (edited)
