On Nov 20, 2010, at the Hudson Ranch launch site located 9.5 miles south west of Pueblo Colorado located on Colorado Highway 78 (Beulah Highway), the Southern Colorado Rocketeers (NAR Section #632) and the Valkyrie Civil Air Patrol Squadron launched a complex high power rocket with onboard video. This was a high power rocket weighing over 50 pounds and was expected to reach an altitude of almost 7000 feet above ground level. The rocket was meant to fire a core L motor L1030 burning for 2.7 seconds. At two seconds into the flight, three J290 motors would air start and burn for 2.4 seconds. At 3.5 seconds after ignition, three J357 motors would air-start. The intended total burn time of all motors was 5.5 seconds; unfortunately, the air-start motors did not ignite during this launch.
