Brief:

The Shape Shifter is a kit that I designed for Wildman Rocketry. It is a 2.27-inch, all-fiberglass, dual-deploy kit right out of the bag.

Specifications:

  • Over 58 Inches Tall
  • Built-Weight Just Over 4 Lbs
  • CNC Precision Cut Parts
  • CNC Precision Slotted Body tube
  • Flies on everything from an H to a J
  • Perfect for Level 1 and Level 2

Parts:

  • Filament-wound fiberglass nose cone,  12.75" long with coupler and 1/8" Bulk plate (Note: Coupler must be glued in)
  • G12 2.27" Upper Body Tube, 16” long
  • G12 2.27" Aft Body Tube, 30” long
  • G10 Fiberglass 1/8” Centering Rings (2)
  • G12 38mm Motor Mount, 13" long
  • G12 Coupler, 7" long with 1" switch band
  • 1/8" Coupler Bulk plates, (2) inner and (2) outer
  • TTW G10 Fins 3/32" (3)

Please note that the kit's nose cone doesn't have the aluminum tip.

Construction:

All that's required to assemble a G12 fiberglass rocket is to make sure you give a good sanding to any parts getting epoxy. The Shape Shifter build is pretty straight-forward and self-explanatory.

Finishing:

Finishing is up to the individual, The G12 finishes very nicely though. A light sanding, a good coat of primer, then finish in whatever color you choose. Mine is done in black gloss with Alien Green Vinyl stickers from Stickershock.

Summary:

Bang-for-your-buck, you can't beat a Wildman kit. The Shape Shifter is a great kit for your L1 or L2 if you have the field for it, With its sharp looks, the Shape Shifter is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
