Manufacturer: Giant Leap Rocketry

Brief:

100% Kevlar - The FIREBALL helps prevent ZIPPERS by cushioning airframes from the severe shock of ejection. It softens and spreads the destructive force of shockcords on the lip of your airframe.

Construction:

It exactly as GiantLeap describes it. The large one that I've flown was 1/2" tubular Kevlar®, loop sewn in one end, was about 4" long. The other end was 50" long without a loop on that end. The long end does not have a sewn-in loop so that it can be positioned in the best place within your rocket. The ball is about 3.75" in diameter, so it fits easily into a 3.9" tube.

Pros: Simple straightforward design.

Cons: a bit pricey, and isn't needed (or might be overkill) on "zipperless" designs

Construction Rating: 5 out of 5

Flight:

It worked great, see the picture. This was in my 5.5" Nike Smoke. Don't miss my review on that PoleCat Aerospace kit.

Recovery:

It just works!

Flight Rating: 5 out of 5

Summary:

This might be just the thing for larger diameter, heavier rockets. I plan on using one in my 10" V2 and 10" Saturn V.

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5
