What a great group of components. Blue tube is my new favorite medium for high power rocketry. Heavy duty and durable.
Blue tube - 'nuff said
The fins were cut very well, a bit of sanding, sealing, and they were flight worthy.
Nose cone is of good quality, minimal prep to paint the plastic nose cone
First experience working with blue tube, handles like cardboard, but much more robust - easier to manipulate than fiberglass or composites.
Overall, very pleased with all the components
I originally assembled, and flew nearly it 'naked' - quick splatter of paint from a rattle can to make it stand out against the sky.
I have since, sanded, filled, primed and painted for a bit better look.
Very easy material to work with.
First flight was over the sound barrier and over the mile marker. Ejection chute recovery on the big lake was picture perfect, with a landing not too far from the launch site. Flew straight and true. Very happy with the components and build
From just over a mile, it dropped as planned.
I am updated to include a dual deployment - those long recoveries add too much angst of losing it on a thermal.
Great stuff. And working with Always Ready Rocketry was a pleasure.
